Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital Unveils Newly Renovated Campus

On October 19, 2021, Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital unveiled an expanded and reconfigured Emergency Department, a renovated and upgraded Radiology Department and a newly constructed Montefiore Medical Group (MMG) New Rochelle Health Center. This comprehensive $44.3 million campus project, funded in full by the Capital Restructuring Financing Program (CRFP) awarded by New York State, continues to ensure the very best, state-of-the-art care is provided to New Rochelle and its surrounding communities—both within the hospital and outside its doors.

“What we have unveiled here today was five years in the making and is focused completely on serving the diverse medical needs of New Rochelle residents and those in our surrounding communities,” said Tony Alfano, Vice President and Executive Director, Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital.

The 25,000-square-foot MMG New Rochelle Health Center is the result of a total gut renovation of the former Montefiore New Rochelle Clinic. The new Center now stands as a modern facility with primary pediatric and adult care, in addition to women’s health, orthopedics, podiatry, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology/oncology and rheumatology services. The Center, which provides healthcare to develop and maintain health for all generations, focuses on meeting the specific needs of each individual patient and provides seamless access to the full range of healthcare services available from Montefiore Health System.

The newly renovated Radiology Suite features a 1.5-short-bore MRI as well as a 64- and 16-slice CT scanner. The new equipment will lead to quicker turnaround time on imaging results, key to determining clinical treatment protocols for patients. The suite is now conveniently accessed from the Emergency Department lobby, reducing the number of people in the Emergency Department waiting area and providing more privacy in both locations.
