Caring for Our Community

Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital is a 223-bed, community-based teaching hospital serving the diverse medical needs of the residents of southern Westchester.

Our skilled and caring hospital staff are dedicated to providing primary, acute and emergency care to members of the community. As one of the largest employers in New Rochelle, we are proud to be an integral part of the community, caring for patients as neighbors, friends and family.

The hospital is part of Montefiore Health System, a premier academic medical center and the University Hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Our History

Since its founding in 1892, Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital has provided for the healthcare needs of the community and region it serves. The hospital became part of the Montefiore Health System in 2013.

Now the hub of a medical village, Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital has evolved tremendously over recent years. We have made significant investments in equipment and infrastructure, including the addition of a 64-slice computed tomography (CT) scanner and fully-revitalized state-of-the-art emergency room services with three dedicated and separated service areas: pediatrics, adult care, and substance abuse and behavioral health.

Mission and Leadership

Our mission: To heal, to teach and to advance the health of the community we serve. Montefiore builds upon a rich history of medical innovation and community service to improve the lives of those in our care. Our mission is exemplified in our exceptional, compassionate care and dedication to improve the well-being of those we serve.

Our leaders draw on extensive professional expertise and organizational knowledge to drive excellence and improvement. They are transforming the level of care in the southern Westchester community. Their commitment to service inspires the teams and associates to make a difference in our patients’ lives every day.

Patient Satisfaction

By understanding what quality care means to each patient, we can provide care at a higher level.

Every patient has a vital role to play in their healthcare team. We get an understanding of what might make each patient more comfortable. We make sure to talk with our patients so they understand their treatment plan and their medications.

This is what patient-centered care is all about. We continually strive to anticipate needs, providing support when patients need it most. And when it is time to leave our hospital, we ensure each patient is connected to any additional ongoing care and support they need.
